Terms and conditions of use

Last updated: · Version 1.3

These terms govern the use of Edrex, the personal finance app (web and mobile). By creating an account or using the service you accept them. Please read them: the essentials are short and written to be understood.

1. Who we are and what Edrex is

Edrex is a service of Bunix S.A.S. (NIT 901958981-0), with registered address at Calle 71 A # 39 - 21, Floor 2, Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia (hereinafter “Edrex”, “we”). Edrex is a tool to organize your personal finances: record transactions, savings, debts and assets, set goals, keep an agenda and consult an artificial intelligence assistant.

Edrex is offered under a licence to use: you do not buy the software or the brand, you only have the right to use the app under these terms.

Edrex is not a bank, a payment or credit institution, or an investment firm. It does not move money and does not offer loans or financial products.

If you decide to connect your bank (optional feature), Edrex reads the transactions of your accounts —it can never move money— through open banking under the PSD2 Directive, via Enable Banking. You authorize it on your bank’s page, Edrex does not receive your bank credentials and you can revoke the access at any time (Available money → Remove). More information in the Privacy policy.

2. Your account

  • You must be 18 or older and legally able to accept these terms.
  • The data you provide (email, name) must be true and kept up to date.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for what happens with your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, change your password and let us know.
  • One person, one account: you may not create accounts for others without their permission or share yours.

3. Permitted use

You may use Edrex for your personal finances, lawfully and in line with these terms. You may not:

  • use it for illegal activities, money laundering or fraud;
  • try to access other people’s data, break security or overload the service (for example with automated tools);
  • reverse engineer or copy the service beyond what the law allows;
  • upload malicious content or content that infringes third-party rights;
  • try to bypass usage limits, especially those of the AI assistant.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or endangers the security of the service, telling you when possible.

4. Your data and content

The data and content you enter are yours. You give us the permission needed to process them for the sole purpose of providing the service, as set out in our Privacy policy. You are responsible for what you record being accurate and for having the right to use it (for example, the statements you import).

You can download your data and delete your account at any time from the app (see Delete my account).

5. The artificial intelligence assistant

  • You are talking to an artificial intelligence system, not to a person. The assistant uses third-party AI models (Google Cloud, Vertex AI) and only works if you accept the sending of your data (see Consent to the use of AI).
  • It can make mistakes, invent data or misunderstand your question. Its answers are indicative, not financial, tax, legal or investment advice.
  • Always check what it suggests, and especially the transactions it proposes or extracts from a statement, before confirming them. Nothing is saved as a transaction until you confirm it.
  • We apply daily usage limits per person and a cap on service spending. We may change them, and at times of high demand or when the cap is reached the assistant may be unavailable.
  • Do not use the assistant to obtain unlawful results or to enter third-party data you have no right to enter.

6. This is not financial advice

Edrex is a support tool. It is not financial, tax, legal or investment advice. The user is solely responsible for their own decisions.

The figures, charts, tips and answers in Edrex are informational and educational. They do not take your full personal situation into account and do not replace a qualified professional. Edrex is not liable for the decisions you make based on the app’s information, within the limits allowed by law.

7. Availability, changes and early version

Edrex is in an early phase and we keep improving it. We do what is reasonable to keep it available and working well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service: there may be maintenance stops, failures or causes beyond our control (providers, networks). We may add, change or remove features; if we remove a significant feature we will give reasonable notice where possible.

The mobile app is updated through the stores (Google Play and App Store); some features may require the latest version.

8. Intellectual property

The software, design, the Edrex brand, logo and texts of the app belong to Bunix S.A.S. or its licensors and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app under these terms. The typefaces (Inter and Playfair Display) are used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Edrex is not liable for indirect damages, loss of profit, or losses arising from decisions made with the app’s information, from wrongly entered data, from service interruptions or force majeure. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, in particular towards consumers, or your non-waivable legal rights.

10. Closing and deleting your account

You can stop using Edrex and delete your account whenever you want, immediately and irreversibly, from Settings → Delete my account, or by following these steps. Before deleting it you can download your data. We may close an account in the cases of section 3, or if we end the service, giving you reasonable notice and the chance to download your data.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms for legal, technical or business reasons. We will publish the new version with its date and give you at least 30 days’ notice before it takes effect, in the app or by email. If you disagree you can cancel your account (free, from Settings → Delete my account) before that date. If you keep using Edrex after the effective date we will understand you accept the changes. If a change is required by law or is urgent for security reasons it may apply sooner, and we will explain why.

12. Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by Colombian law, and disputes will be submitted to the courts of Medellín (Colombia).

If you are a consumer in the European Union, this does not take away the protection granted by the mandatory rules of your country of habitual residence: you may also go to the courts of your domicile and benefit from those rules.

Before making a claim, write to [email protected]: we will try to solve it. As a consumer you may also turn to the out-of-court dispute resolution bodies of your country.
